Party in the U.S.A

Happy late Fourth of July!
I hope you all had a blast, we sure did!
Thursday morning I woke up bright and early to help out with the Kiwi Loco in the Rexburg parade
It was insane.
kids were charging at me and the float and screaming because they wanted free froyo.
"But I really want one!"--yeah so does everyone else though kid
It was hot and sticky (especially after unfrozen otter-pops exploded all over me) but it was a blast and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to do it.
Also!!! Stacey moved to Rexburg!!!!! I missed my friend:)  It has been awesome to have her here and she fits right in!

Later  that evening we all went down to idaho falls for the famous firework show. There were thousands of people and like no parking. yikes! But it was a blast! we found a great spot out by the river and spread out blankets and played Wacky Six.  Kinda like Nertz. Super fun!
The show started really late because they were looking for a missing swimmer.  They ended up moving the spot of the fireworks so the show could start.
The young man was found dead soon after...
Many prayers go out to him family and friends at this time.

sparklers are gorgeous!

Saturday we ran the Color in Motion 5K!
My first one and i did pretty well I might add.
We got so colorful... and pretty...and stained...my armpit is still blue.. :)
We washed off at monkey rock later as a storm was rolling in and almost got struck by lightning! we all started looking around at each other and noticed all of our wet hair was standing straight up.  We booked it to the car and made it home safe :)

the semester end in 2 weeks...:( sad day.  It is bitter sweet.
Im excited to go home and go on a mission!!!!!
But it's sad because I wont see these people for a really long time and i love school!

Howdy Y'all

Last weekend Tenesia took us all to her hometown in Burley, Idaho.
We had a wonderful time camping, and being cowgirls!

Things I learned from being a country gal

1. when a cow dies...it bloats...and it can exlpode. gross.
2. a cow having a baby isnt a big deal like in the
movies. the cow just moans and the calf slides right out! no biggy.
3. being on a horse while it's running is not a graceful thing like you see on TV. You fly in the air and but hits the saddle so hard you have bruises.
4. If you leave a tent door open it will seem even windier than it really is.
5. Cows arent milked by hand. They are milked by machines that look like little vacuums that suck the milk right out into a communal tube.
6. calves are separated from their moms right after birth! cruel
7. Cows dont get pregnant the old fashioned way.  ALL the cows on a dairy get pregnant from artificial insemination.
8. potatoes carry an awful stench when rotten and dumped into a pile with thousands of other potatoes.
9. dont overdose on tylonel.
10. farms bring out my allergies.
11. horses do not listen.
12. dont wear tight jeans while horseback riding. You'll flip your leg over and riiiipppp....
